Topic:  FIRE STOPPING

STI –Specified Technologies Inc: the Firestopping Specialists

“For over 25 years, our management team has worked hand in hand with the construction industry to create innovative firestop solutions for all types of new construction and retrofit applications. We offer the broadest range of UL© Classified Systems… we design systems [for firestopping] with the installer in mind.”  The systems include sealants, caulk, mortar, collars, sleeves, sprays and joint sealants, and an additional assortment of systems for cable runs.

Key concept    Fire protection engineers need to spec appropriate fire stopping products throughout a structure in the contract documents.

Topic: Sprinkler Design Intent: If contract documents and meet certain requirements for construction, a TN registered fire protection subcontractor will not be required to submit shop drawings for fire protection systems [2006 Codes].
